Jan. 2018, Redemptive Bondage: Don’t Get Snowed!

Dear Point To Hope Friends,

Wow, another year has come and gone! Here’s another fact … can’t go back! Yet, we all have the same opportunity before us: “Be better today than you were yesterday, and be better tomorrow than you are today.” (Lorenzo Snow). … and you probably just asked yourself the same question I asked myself: Who’s Lorenzo Snow??? Yes, I just quoted a religious leader who served as fifth president of ‘The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints’. Stay with me… initially, Lorenzo Snow and his family were Baptist but Joseph Smith moved within 4 miles of their farm … and you can predict the rest of the story… He got snowed!

Where am I going with Lorenzo Snow? What ever victories or defeats we encountered in 2017, we can’t relive; good or bad… BUT we do have 2018 to look forward to; To be better today and ‘better’ better tomorrow! Tomorrow is 2018! If you read Nancy’s “Merry Christmas” letter, you’ll know that the theme the Lord gave her for 2018 is “Redemptive Bondage”. First thought – “Redemptive Bondage” almost sounds ‘risky’ or like an oxymoron. Yet, according to the Lord, 2018 will be awesome IF we walk in obedience. And, this should be a relief: It’s not just trying to be ‘good’! Jesus himself, when He was called a ‘good teacher’ answered “No one is good – except God alone,” (Luke 18:18b/NIV). Yes, walk in obedience! Stay under the protection of His mighty hand! Be and stay enlightened in the Word and walk by the leading of the Holy Spirit …. stay on the train tracks of Word and Prayer! The enemy would love to “Snow” us any way possible and lead us away from Jesus Christ like Lorenzo Snow. …. BUT continue to live and walk by the Spirit. “Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom” (2 Cor. 3:17/NIV).

Yes, yes, yes, praise the Lord, we can have freedom in the midst of bondage; Redemptive Bondage!

I will spare you all the details of a current home project but let me say this…. replacing a carpeted staircase with solid oak stairs is a literal step by step process. Da, right! But spiritually speaking, as we go through each day of 2018, we can not proceed to the next step / stage / season until the timing is right! If the cuts are not accurate, if the wood is not sanded properly, if the applications of the finishing top coats are rushed, the end result will not display the beauty of the wood grain; the wood – God’s creation! Timing is everything … and God’s timing is everything – ‘wait for Him’ … walk by His Spirit! Psalm 27:14 (TPT), “Here’s what I’ve learned through it all: Don’t give up, don’t be impatient; Be entwined as one with the Lord. Be brave, courageous, and never lose hope. Yes, keep waiting— For He will never disappoint you!”

On behalf of the Point To Hope team, thank you for your faithful prayers! Thank you for your obedience and sensitivity to the Holy Spirit! The Point To Hope ‘train movement’ is powered by the Word and Prayer … we are all on His Glory train … we might be in different train-cars, but we are on the same track and going the same direction by the leading of the Holy Spirit!

May we all continue to ask for God’s mercy and the outpouring of this favor as we move into 2018: Redemptive Bondage! It is going to be great.

Earlier in December, Nancy and I traveled to Washington D.C. to visit the African Embassies (total of 51 located in DC); An assignment where the Lord gives Nancy the authority and anointing for each country. Thank you especially for your prayer coverage for Africa as this is part of the “7 Years of Plenty” / Country prayer mandate. More to come about Africa when more details become available. Also, while in DC, we stood in front of The White House …. and let me say, the atmosphere was different … it was Peaceful and Free! Just sayin’ … we sensed a shift. That is not a political statement … just sharing what we sensed spiritually.

See the website for ministry itinerary and conference details; www.pointtohope.org . Also, note there are still more ministries meetings that will be posted on the website (TBA: Feb. 7- March 4).
