Unity Faith Exercise

January Prayer Topic: Unity

Dear PTH Friends,

A very Happy New 2019 to all! It is going to be an awesome year of Faith, which is what number 19 represents. I don’t know this for a fact, but I bet most new year resolutions have to do with getting something into ‘shape’! ”Physical training is good, but training for godliness is much better, promising benefits in this life and in the life to come,” (1 Tim. 4:8). Reshaping, whatever it may be, will require us to believe for what has not yet come into being…. also called “Faith.” And, I am pretty sure with the building of faith, tests and trials are ever much a part of the process! As with most exercise, you can usually say, “hurts good” and “will be worth the process.”

A couple things about Faith! We need it if we desire to please God. “And without faith, it is impossible to please God,” (Heb. 11:6a). Furthermore, the latter part of that same verse says, “He rewards those who earnestly / sincerely seek Him.” And the good news is, we can usually find a type and shadow in the Bible and know how the story ends. So, don’t just ‘keep the faith’ … ‘build the faith’!

Which brings me to the prayer topic for January: Unity! It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to know that in any process, whether difficult or easy, when things / issues progress in a unified manner it just goes better! It also goes without mention that God created us each individually and we may have a diverse approach to get the same result. So, as we exercise our faith this year, pray for unity as we trust God in all things and desire God’s will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven. God isn’t asking for perfection, but He is asking for effort … ‘exercise’! “Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace,” (Eph. 4:3).

Topic: Unity
Unity in relationships, near and far
Unity for leader or follower
Unity with believers and unbelievers
Unity for others
Unity for our country, and other countries.

Tomorrow (1/3-3/4), Nancy and I will be heading to Georgia / S. Carolina, joining other PTH leaders, to start 2 months of ministry. Please continue to check website for periodic calendar events. Also, we hope to see you at the PTH Holy Spirit Encounter Conference in Aiken, SC ( Jan. 24-26, 2019).

Keep the faith! Always love, always hope! Stand on and declare the Word of God! He is in charge and He reigns. May His voice be the loudest voice you hear, even though it may be the softest whisper. “Faith comes by hearing,” (Ro. 10:17a).

Blessings to all!

Sincerely,
Sarah Tarter
